📏 Measure your helmet before you order

Got a very large (XXL) or very small helmet? Measure around it and email Julie at julie@helmetbrims.com before you order. We can make an XXL brim or a smaller inner size, but we need your helmet’s circumference measurement to get the fit right the first time. This goes for riders in Australia and overseas.

How to measure: Wrap a soft tape measure around the widest part of your helmet, where the brim will sit. Send us the measurement in cm or inches, plus your helmet brand if you know it.

Shade cloth blocks around 87 to 90% of UV, not 100%. Even fully closed fabrics can’t stop everything, because UV bounces off tar roads, water and glass. Your brim is one layer of protection, so pair it with sunscreen and sun-smart habits.

Looking After Your Brim
Your order arrives in a sturdy box. Keep the box, and store your helmet with the brim attached when you’re not riding. Stored properly, the spring steel holds its shape for years. Small reshapes are fine.

Will this fit my helmet?
Yes. Helmet Brims are designed to fit all helmet sizes and brands, including English, Western, endurance and trail helmets.

What’s the difference between Ultra-Wide and Regular?
The Ultra-Wide sticks out 4.5 inches from your helmet for maximum shade. The Regular sticks out 3.5 inches for a more compact fit. Check image 2 for the comparison.

Does it stay on in wind?
Yes. The shade cloth doesn’t catch the wind, so it stays put at a gallop and in strong winds.
